Macallan Speymalt 1940 – A whisky distilled more than eight decades ago
The Macallan Speymalt 1940, bottled by Gordon & MacPhail, is one of the oldest and most extraordinary expressions to be found in the whisky market. Distilled in 1940 at the historic Macallan distillery in Speyside and bottled decades later by the celebrated Elgin merchant, this whisky is a literal window into the past, to an era when the distillery and the world were entirely different places.
In the glass, the nose reveals historic depth: layers of dried fruit, aged walnut, tanned leather, wax, pipe tobacco and spice softened by time into a whisper. The palate is smooth, rounded and quietly complex. The finish is exceptionally long and wistful, with a lingering echo of aged wood and stewed plum.
A historic collector's piece, for the most discerning tastings or as a whisky investment of the very highest order. One of the most extraordinary whiskies on the market. At The Provenance, you can purchase the Macallan Speymalt 1940 with full authenticity guaranteed and secure delivery across the United Kingdom.
