FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Ordering
Do I need to be 18 to order?
Yes. All our products contain alcohol, and by law we can only sell to adults aged 18 or over. We operate a strict age-verification policy on every order, and our couriers may request ID on delivery.
Do all products have a minimum order quantity?
No — most bottles can be purchased individually. Where a product is only available in a minimum quantity (for example, as part of a case), this is clearly stated on the product page, and the quantity selector will enforce it automatically.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit and debit cards via Shopify Payments.
Duty Paid vs. In Bond
What's the difference between Duty Paid and In Bond?
Duty Paid means UK Excise Duty and VAT are already included in the price, and your bottle is ready for immediate delivery. In Bond means the bottle remains in an HMRC-approved bonded warehouse with duty and VAT not yet paid — ideal for collectors and investors who plan to hold or resell, since you don't pay tax upfront on a bottle you don't intend to open.
How do I release an In Bond bottle for delivery?
Contact us at any time to request release. We'll confirm the current Excise Duty and VAT payable, and arrange delivery once this is settled.
Can I transfer an In Bond bottle to another account?
Yes. If you hold an account with our bonded warehouse provider, we can arrange an inter-account transfer. Your bottle remains In Bond throughout, and no duty or VAT becomes payable on transfer. Contact us for the current transfer fee.
Delivery
Where do you deliver?
We currently deliver across the United Kingdom only. International shipping of alcohol involves significant regulatory complexity, and we're not offering it at this time — see our Shipping Policy for details.
How long does delivery take?
Standard UK delivery typically takes 10–15 business days from dispatch. This reflects both courier transit time and, where applicable, the time required to release goods from bonded storage. Rare or high-value items may take longer — we'll keep you informed.
Who signs for my delivery?
Someone aged 18 or over must be present to sign. Our couriers operate a Challenge 25 policy and may ask for photographic ID.
Authenticity & Provenance
How do you guarantee authenticity?
Every bottle we offer is held within HMRC-approved bonded warehouses, with full chain-of-custody documentation from the moment it enters our care. If you have any concern about a bottle you've received, contact us immediately — we take this extremely seriously.
Are you a licensed alcohol seller?
Yes. The Provenance is a trading name of Origin Spain Ltd, registered with HMRC under the Alcohol Wholesaler Registration Scheme (AWRS: XFAW00000119902). You can verify this registration on the HMRC website at any time.
Returns
Can I return a bottle?
Duty Paid orders can usually be cancelled within the statutory 14-day period, provided the seal is unbroken. In Bond purchases and opened bottles cannot generally be returned. See our Refund Policy for full details.
