The Provenance was founded on a simple belief: that the world's rarest whiskies, champagnes and cognacs deserve a home built on authenticity, security and genuine expertise — not just a shopfront.
We work with collectors, investors and connoisseurs who understand that a bottle is never just a bottle. It carries a history: a distillery, a cask, a vintage, a chain of custody. Our role is to protect that history at every stage, from the moment a bottle enters our care to the moment it reaches your glass.

Every bottle we offer is held within HMRC-approved bonded warehouses — facilities that meet the highest standards of security, temperature control and chain-of-custody record-keeping. Whether you buy Duty Paid or In Bond, your purchase is fully traceable from the moment it enters our care.
The Provenance is a trading name of Origin Spain Ltd, registered with HM Revenue & Customs under the Alcohol Wholesaler Registration Scheme (AWRS) — your assurance that every transaction is fully licensed and compliant with UK law.
Duty Paid vs. In Bond — What's the Difference?
Duty Paid means UK Excise Duty and VAT have already been accounted for. The price you see is the price you pay, and your bottle is ready for immediate delivery — perfect if you're buying to drink or gift straight away.
In Bond means your bottle remains within an HMRC-approved bonded warehouse, with Excise Duty and VAT not yet paid. This is the preferred route for collectors and investors who plan to hold or resell: you avoid paying tax upfront on a bottle you don't intend to open, and your holding remains fully documented and transferable for as long as you own it. Duty and VAT only become payable when you choose to release the bottle for delivery, at the rate applicable at that time.
